Purple Shells, 2017
Boarding a cargo ship in Vancouver bound for Shanghai, I carried with me a collection of Purple varnish clam shells. The clams originally travelled to Vancouver from Asia in the ballasts of cargo ships during the 1980's.
This work was made during Access Art Gallery's Twenty-Three Days at Sea Artist Residency.
